This is a town that was buried just like Pompai. We were able to go into the houses and see actual paintings on thje walls from 2000 years ago. Back on the ship. Time to pack. Sorry to leave the ship tomorrow.

View from ship. 13th Century castle in middle of picture. Heading of to the Amalfi Coast. They say it is a scary drive on narrow roads clinging to the side of a mountain overlooking the Sea. Then on to Hurculieum and the ruins of Pompai.
We are heading back to the ship. Savoca was a very small village at the top of a hill. I took lots of pictures with my camera, but forgot to take any pictures with my phone. The smog was so thick in Alexandria, we had to travel about an hour out before I could take a picture. This land use to be desert, but now they bring water here from$ the Nile and it is all green farms. It will take us about 3 hours to get to Cairo.
